This sculptural hat is shaped to the style of a glamorous 1940âs percher style and is adorned with a rare piece of Edwardian lace veiling, carefully incorporated into the design, hand finished with Petersham ribbon tied into a bow at the back.
Dating from the Edwardian era, the lace carries the delicacy and romantic characteristics of the period. Its intricate construction, aged character and softly weathered beauty are qualities that simply cannot be reproduced in a newly made textile.
This design celebrates the history of the lace allowing the antique textile to become an integral part of the silhouette and giving an otherwise somewhat contemporary piece the feeling of something inherited.
